The Wedding Trial
The wedding trial is a time for us to meet and discuss your vision for your wedding makeup, and how you would like to look and feel on your wedding day. It helps us to get to know one another, including your personal style and my makeup style. I get to learn how you like to wear your makeup normally and what you have in mind for the wedding itself. The trial involves a skin analysis (and if necessary, advice on how to improve your skincare), as well as a joint discussion regarding all your requirements for the day, from the wedding and colour theme, your dress, hairstyle and accessories, to the bridesmaid dresses. We also share and discuss different make-up ideas around the look you would like to achieve, with advice given on colours that suit your complexion and eyes. |
As visual aids, I always encourage my clients to bring along photos/ Pinterest boards/ etc. of make-up styles they like (and don't like) and have saved for inspiration. It is really helpful for me to see things that have inspired you for your wedding day like magazine cuttings, floral bouquet and dress colours, and of course, images from channels like Pinterest and Instagram. It is also helpful for me to see things you don't like, just so we can avoid these! As I am just getting to know you, it is really helpful to know when you don't like something, so please don't be shy about telling me. I really won't be offended. It then enables me to adjust anything and create your perfect bridal look.
My brides are also welcome to check out my Portfolio, and makeup looks on my Facebook, Instagram and bridal Pinterest boards in advance of the trial for further inspiration.
We then discuss different colours and products, which is then followed by a full trial application of how your make-up will look on the wedding day, including top tips and tricks of the trade. This all helps to create the perfect look that will complement every aspect of your special day. And once achieved, I take a number of photos of the final look to ensure it is then precisely recreated on your wedding day. All products, shades and any special requirements are also noted for the chosen look and used as a reference guide for the wedding day.
The many years of experience in the industry has given me a broad understanding of makeup and a deep insight into how it performs on different skin types, particularly under pressure. This is invaluable for wedding makeup that needs to last all day and night.
Before leaving, I will ensure you are completely satisfied with the agreed look, giving you the confidence that you will look flawless and feel fabulous on your very special day.
A bridal trial normally takes approximately 1.5-2 hours. Trials are also available to any of your bridal party members who would like their wedding make-up done professionally, so that everyone can look flawless and feel fabulous on your wedding day. Their trial should take approximately 1-1.5 hours per person.
If you are looking for a wedding hairstylist, I can recommend stylists that I have worked with on many weddings. I would also recommend that your hairstylist comes to you on the wedding day. This then ensures that all of your creative team are under one roof, taking the stress out of making any unnecessary trips.
Beauty & Make-Up Service
I have partnered up with the fantastic Zest Skin Spa in order to offer our clients a holistic service of beauty treatments and make-up, helping my brides to achieve that perfect, flawless look for their special day by looking after their skin. Having healthy skin is important in general, plus it acts as a base for the make-up, which is another good reason to look after it.
