Terms & Conditions
1. Deposit
1.1 Wedding Bookings:
A deposit of 30% [of the total fee] is required at the time of the booking to secure the wedding date. Upon receipt of the deposit, a confirmation email will be issued to confirm the booking. The deposit is non-refundable and will be deducted from the final balance due. A minimum booking amount may be applicable.
I understand that requirements may change sometimes, and I will work with you in every way I can to accommodate these changes as much as possible. I will issue a new quotation based on any changes made, and the non-refundable deposit will still remain.
For trials, payment is due 48 hours in advance via bank transfer in order for the trials to go ahead.
Following a successful trial(s), the outstanding final balance of the wedding booking is due for payment no later than 14 days prior to the wedding date. Please note that cheque payments should be made no later than 21 days prior to the wedding date to allow for payment clearance.
1.2 Virtual Makeup Lessons
Once a booking is scheduled, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required to secure the virtual makeup lesson. An email will be issued, along with an invoice to confirm the booking. The balance will be required via bank transfer 24 hours in advance of the virtual makeup lesson, for the lesson to then go ahead.
1.3 All Other Bookings
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure the date.
Upon receipt of payment, a confirmation email will be issued to confirm the booking. A minimum booking amount may be applicable.
I understand that requirements may change sometimes, and I will work with you in every way I can to accommodate these changes as much as possible.
2. Payment Methods
I accept payment via online bank transfer, cash and cheque. I also accept payment via cash or QR Code for in-studio payments.
3. Travel Costs
I always try to keep travel costs to a minimum and for all locations within Edinburgh, they are free of charge. For locations further afield, a travel charge of 70p per mile will be incurred and advised within the written quotation.
Parking charges may be incurred within town or city centre locations, but are avoided where at all possible.
4. Cancellations
4.1 Wedding Bookings
If in the event of an unforeseen circumstance you decide to cancel your booking, or part of your booking, following its confirmation, the below charges will be payable;
8 weeks prior to the wedding date - 20%
7 weeks prior to the wedding date - 30%
6 weeks prior to the wedding date - 40%
5 weeks prior to the wedding date - 50%
4 weeks prior to the wedding date - 75%
3 weeks prior to the wedding date - 100%
Please note that the above percentages are based on the relevant total booking amount (including any bridal party members & others). As the deposit is non-refundable, this will not be refunded for any cancellation.
To change or cancel a trial booking, a 48 hour notice period is required to avoid being charged the full trial booking amount.
In the unlikely event of a wedding booking cancellation by myself due to an emergency or severe illness, as much notice as possible will be given. I will endeavour to make every effort to source a replacement make-up artist. Should no replacement be found, all monies paid in advance by the client will be refunded. The only exception to this will be the payment for any service that has already taken place, for example, any trials.
4.2 Virtual Makeup Lessons
Should either the client's or my internet connection be poor or unavailable to conduct a makeup lesson online, we can either reschedule or cancel the lesson. If cancelled due to poor internet quality, a full refund will be issued.
In the event of the virtual makeup lesson going ahead and being completed, any payments made will not be refunded. Therefore, the decision to reschedule or cancel must be made at the beginning of the make-up lesson.
4.3 All Other Bookings
To change or cancel a booking, a 48 hour notice period is required to avoid being charged the full booking amount.
5. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are redeemable against any service, and are available in any denomination.
They are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Vouchers cannot be used beyond the expiry date, which is written on the front of the voucher.
Gift vouchers are exchanged for the listed service on the back of your voucher. In the event of an exchange for a different service which exceeds the total of your voucher, this additional cost will be paid by the redeemer. This is at the company's discretion, so please do enquire, as I am here to help.
Gift vouchers are not cash transferable, and so are non-refundable.
A gift voucher is for one person only. Spectators will not be invited into the studio for any appointment made with the voucher.
In the event of any dispute, the final decision is with Colette Casher Makeup Artistry.
Colette Casher Makeup Artistry reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
6. Covid-19
If necessary for health reasons, face masks can be worn by both parties as a precaution, to help minimise the spread of the virus to other clients. The mask can be worn by the client for the initial part of the appointment and the eye makeup application, and then removed for the face makeup application.
Client safety and comfort is of the utmost importance. This then also allows them to relax and enjoy their appointment.
